Control System Modifications

Machinery control system modifications typically include upgrading an existing control system's components or programming logic, or replacing older or obsolete components with modern controls.  Some of the factors that drive a manufacturer's decision to modify an existing control system are improvements to equipment safety, enhancements to production capabilities, and improvements in equipment efficiency.  These are some of the main reasons for performing a control system upgrade:

  • Safety Enhancements - Reduce the risk of injury to employees through the use of safety components or safety controllers

  • Improvement of Performance - Increase system response times and improve system control

  • Adding System Functionality - Add new features such as data acquisition, remote monitoring or, interfacing for machine control

  • Modernization and Retrofitting - Upgrade or replace mature or obsolete components to reduce extended equipment downtime

Control system modifications can be challenging and require detailed planning and execution.  We have over twenty-five years of experience with modifying machinery control systems or replacing obsolete technology while minimizing downtime associated with equipment upgrades and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
